Weaning Step 4 - Healthy Breakfast
BREAKFAST: THE MOST IMPORTANT MEAL OF THE DAY
Breakfast is important – it may even be the most important meal of the day. It gives your baby the energy he needs – until the next feed; and it’s a good way of establishing a routine. As your baby starts to eat more, and more often, he will appreciate being fed at the same times every day. Make it an event the whole family will enjoy and let the day start with happiness!
6 VALUABLE TIPS FOR BREAKFAST TIME
Keep feeding him milk in the mornings, but just enough to not spoil his breakfast
Don’t worry if he eats very small amounts at the beginning
Limit foods that contain gluten until he’s 6 months and older
No soft-boiled egg yolk or runny yolks before he’s 12 months old
Make feeding time as relaxing as possible, while also making him understand that breakfast time is time to eat
Encourage discovery – make food that is easy to hold (like toast and sliced banana) or easy to scoop with a spoon (like cereals)
