pregnancy emotions and relationships not enjoying being pregnant

Not everyone has an easy time during pregnancy, so if you're suffering from some of the side effects and haven't been sleeping well, it's understandable to feel a bit low. Talking really can help, so get some support by confiding in a friend.

I’m not enjoying being pregnant

Pregnancy doesn't seem to agree with me

Despite all the magazines showing mums-to-be glowing on their covers, not everyone enjoys pregnancy. As your body goes through changes, your hormones can make you feel more emotional, and you may feel sick or tired too.

If you've also got some other less glamorous symptoms of pregnancy, you might feel completely fed up. The good news is, it does get better. If you're in your first trimester, sickness and fatigue often wear off in the second trimester.

How can I make myself feel better?

  • Identify your main worry, then you can think of ways to work around it
  • Talk to a friend who's been through it already, or your mum – it can help put things in perspective
  • Listen to your body, and rest whenever you need to
  • Try to have some ‘me time' and do things that make you feel happy
  • Think of what's to come – holding your baby for the first time will make all this worthwhile
  • Remember, pregnancy's not always easy, but most mums agree that it's worth it in the end!
