Similar to the Potato and Carrot Paratha, this version consists of a chunkier filling made with broccoli for your toddler, as he grows older. This green superfood is rich in iron and is a great way to prevent your toddler from developing iron deficiency anemia.

Aloo and Broccoli Paratha

Ingredients

  • 45 grams whole wheat flour
  • ½ small potato, boiled, peeled and grated
  • 2 broccoli florets, blanched and finely chopped
  • ¼ teaspoon cumin powder
  • ¼ teaspoon dried mango powder
  • 1 teaspoon homemade white butter/ghee

Method

    Put the wheat flour in a bowl, slowly add water and knead until it turns into soft dough.

    For stuffing, mix the potato, broccoli, cumin powder and dried mango powder in a bowl.

    Divide the dough and the stuffing into two equal portions.

    Roll out the dough into thick chapatti and stuff each with a portion of stuffing. Seal the edges and roll into thin paratha.

    On a heated non-stick tawa, place the paratha on one side for a few seconds then add half a teaspoon of ghee or white butter before it turns brown. Do the same for the other side.

    Serve at room temperature.
