These furry looking Chicken Flower Dumplings are a fun way to introduce minced chicken to your toddler. Each dumpling contains the nutritional values of carrots, beansprouts, spinach and ginger.

Chicken Flower Dumplings

Ingredients

  • ½ banana leaf
  • 75 grams chicken, minced
  • 1 tablespoon grated carrot
  • 1 tablespoon beansprout, chopped
  • ¼ teaspoon ginger paste
  • 3 tablespoons rice, soaked
  • 1 tablespoon shredded spinach

Method

    Heat sufficient water in a steamer. Line the perforated steamer container with the banana leaf.

    In a bowl, mix minced chicken with carrot, spinach, bean sprouts, ginger paste.

    Spread the rice evenly on a plate.

    Grease your palms then take small portions of the chicken mixture and shape them into balls. Roll the chicken balls on the plate of rice, making sure each is evenly covered. Place these balls on the banana leaf in the steamer. Repeat this for the rest of the minced chicken.

    Close the lid and steam for about 15 minutes on medium heat.

    Serve at room temperature.
