Your baby’s health and wellbeing is always our absolute top priority. We would like to reassure you, our product is and always has been safe. We understand that news of a product recall can be worrying, and we want to provide you with the clearest and most helpful information possible.
We’ve recently taken the proactive step to recall specific batches of Bebelac. We’re doing this as an extra safety measure because a guideline for infant formula composition has recently been updated. This allows us to ensure that every Bebelac product continues to meet our incredibly high safety and quality standards.
It’s important to know: Only certain batches are being recalled. The products you find on the shelves today are not impacted. The table below includes the recalled batches:

Is Bebelac safe for my baby?
Yes. We know your baby’s safety is your everything, and it’s ours too. We would like to reassure you, our product is and always has been safe. You can rely on us to provide the highest quality products for your little ones, with safety our top priority. We make all our products in incredibly strict, controlled conditions and perform over 500 quality and safety checks on every product – so that you can trust they meet the highest standards as verified by our independent expert testers.
Why has Bebelac been recalled?
Recently, a guideline for infant formula composition was updated, and we always ensure our products are compliant with official guidelines. As a proactive step and extra precaution, we’ve recalled specific batches of Bebelac. The products you find on shelf today are not part of the recall.
Does this mean the products were unsafe before?
No. We never compromise on food safety. The products involved in this recall met all applicable safety and quality standards that were in place when they were made. When these guidelines or testing standards evolve, we sometimes choose to take these extra, cautious steps to ensure our products always meet the very highest standards for your little ones. This includes our new specific double check on every product made with ARA oil that leaves our facilities to make sure it is right for your children.
What caused the recall in the first place?
A toxin called cereulide was detected in a supplier ingredient called arachidonic acid (ARA), which is widely used in infant formula. This then led to an update in the guidance of EU and local authorities around ingredients. To be certain that all our products meet these new safety standards, we decided to recall specific batches. We are no longer sourcing from that supplier and products in store are fully compliant with regulatory guidelines as per the European authorities. We have also implemented stricter quality control standards on all our ingredient suppliers.
Why is arachidonic acid (ARA) an ingredient in Bebelac?
ARA (arachidonic acid) is a type of omega-6 fatty acid, much like those naturally found in breast milk. It’s incredibly important for supporting your baby’s developing brain and immune system. That’s why experts recommend including it in infant formula – to help give your baby the best possible start nutritionally.
What should I do with my product if it has been affected?
